Confessions of a Closeted Clairvoyant
BEING AN INTUITIVE IN A SKEPTICAL WORLD
ABOUT THE BOOK
Kim was nine when her mother noticed she could locate lost items through thought alone—and quietly began testing her. As Kim grew, so did her intuition, and like her mother before her, she learned to keep what she knew hidden.
Acceptance of her abilities and of herself came slowly. In college, Kim had a near-death experience when a blood clot traveled to her brain following a routine surgery, bringing her to the brink of death. In its wake, her intuitive abilities intensified, and she began to sense those who had passed—and, at times, connect with those on the threshold between life and death.
By day, Kim built an impressive career in television, spending 23 years tuning in—checking her intuition, reading the energy in the room, and trusting the invisible cues that guided her decisions. Few people knew her secret.
Her search for understanding led her deep into the worlds of energy, clairvoyance, reincarnation, and mediumship—subjects that, time and again, brought her face-to-face with God and the mystery of the afterlife.
Then came a twist she never saw coming: her young son began showing signs of the same abilities. Determined to help him, she sought guidance, studied control techniques, and learned how to “turn down the volume” for them both.
Along the way, she found a community of kindred spirits—teachers, skeptics, and believers—who encouraged her to write and share her story. Today, Kim insists that these experiences aren’t rare or exclusive. "Many people share my traits. And whether you believe or not, chances are something unexplained has already brushed against your life.”
AUTHOR BIO

Kim grew up as the youngest of seven in a spirited New York household where dinner
conversations could venture
into almost any topic. Her siblings—most with their own brand of sensitivity—dabbled in meditation, reincarnation, and various Eastern philosophies,
unintentionally broadening Kim’s world far beyond the boundaries of her strict Catholic upbringing.
It wasn’t until Kim could no longer hide her gifts that she began to unlock “inside self,” a box deep in her soul where she kept her secrets. That’s when everything began to change.
After living in Manhattan through her 20’s, Kim moved to Los Angeles for an executive role in a production company. She was transferred back to New York two years later but eventually ended up settling on the west side of LA where she now lives with her family. She’s spent time in almost all 50 US states and visited over 25 countries—each journey feeding her fascination with people, cultures, and the stories that live between worlds. Drawn to anything unordinary, Kim finds her greatest joy in exploring what lies just beyond the familiar.

In this deeply honest and beautifully rendered memoir, Kim invites readers into the hidden life of an intuitive woman who spent decades learning when to reveal her gifts—and when to keep them concealed. Moving between the spiritual and the everyday, the mystical and the deeply human, she weaves together stories of awakening, doubt, love, grief, and discovery with piercing clarity and unexpected humor.

In Confessions of a Closeted Clairvoyant, Kim S. Bantle recounts a life in which intuition arrives before explanation. Growing up in Larchmont, New York, in a large Catholic family, she learned early to keep some experiences private. College brings powerful dreams, followed by a career in television where instinct sometimes enters decisions she cannot explain through experience alone. Motherhood gives those abilities a new importance as her children begin encountering the world in ways that make her reconsider what she has spent years keeping private. Then, her son, Jackson, starts showing signs of sensitivity resembling her own. Looking back across decades of experiences, she begins to understand how much clairvoyance has shaped her life, eventually moving to the decision to acknowledge publicly the part of herself she once kept private.
Kim S. Bantle’s Confessions of a Closeted Clairvoyant is an exceptional memoir, and the author writes about clairvoyance with such openness that the experiences feel like part of family life. I loved how naturally she connects her own abilities to the generations before her, making inheritance an important part of how she understands herself. Her mother eventually admits that her great-grandmother read tea leaves, a detail that places her experiences within a family story. I was especially drawn to the way she writes about motherhood, where her own history lets her meet Jackson’s intuition with understanding. When her nine-year-old son becomes certain that a tsunami will strike Asia, she listens seriously to what he tells her, recognizing the certainty behind what he is describing. Well-written and heartfelt, readers who enjoy memoirs about clairvoyance will adore this.
